Romeo 02:58
Romeoʼs in the front seat, and yeah heʼs got the car running. He beat my ass and he took the keys, Iʼm on the driveway screaming. I didnʼt know he would visit me, in fact I thought that he wouldnʼt. But here I am on the concrete, with my stupid mouth smirking. We both speak in perfect screenplay scripture. Like itʼs written, and weʼre pulling it down from the ether. Iʼm in the trunk gagged and hog-tied, but Iʼve never felt so alive. Romeoʼs on the freeway, with a lead-foot speeding. Dark red on his denim jeans, from all my new wounds bleeding. I donʼt know what time it is. For all I care time doesnʼt exist. I donʼt know what time it is. For all I care time doesnʼt exist. We both speak in perfect screenplay scripture. Like itʼs written, and weʼre pulling it down from the ether. Iʼm in the trunk gagged and hog-tied, but Iʼve never felt so alive.

Separate Beds and separate bathrooms. Separate floors, same foundation. Separate lives, separate friends. Separate hearts, and same creations. Honey, we’ve got a good thing. Let’s keep our old love young. Desperate men, desperate women.Restless wives, restless husbands. Make their days, do the dishes. Watch TV, and then fall asleep Honey, we’ve got a good thing. Let’s keep our old love young. Because nothing perfect lasts forever, nothing perfect lasts. Perfect is more like the weather, it comes and then will pass. Honey, we’ve got a good thing. Let’s keep our old love young.

Thereʼs a ticket in your windshield. And the price keeps adding up. Thereʼs an lp in your turntable. Another place to house the dust. Thereʼs a song for almost everything. And youʼve heard every single one. Though the chords are nearly perfect. One more spin could kill the fun. Change routines mix it up take a class and buy some new shoes. Stop the tape wind it up start it back up from the top. In the summer the sun is shining, sweat is dripping off your brow. The air is stagnant you are wheezing. Drawing breaths through lips that frown. In the winter you are freezing, the snow looks ugly on the ground. To the sun you may start praying. Begging for the ice to melt. Change the scene, donʼt fix it up. Nothing else could go wrong now. Lay and wait, something’s still wrong. I must need a brand new house.
